On Thursday 23 June, the Junior School competed in our annual House Athletics Carnival. Thankfully, the weather leading up to the day was mild, allowing Breen Oval to dry out. A special thank you to Mr Jansen, our Groundsman, for all his efforts in preparing the track so that our boys were able to compete and excel on the day.
The competition was hotly contested with all houses performing well. The scores were very close with no more than 20 points separating the teams throughout the day. Eventually, it came down to the last set of races, the age relays. This ultimately saw Crichton come out on top, narrowly beating Hanrahan and Berg for top honours.
We congratulate the following boys who broke records at this year’s carnival:
- Xavier Khoury (Year 5)
11 Years 100m 13.79 sec (old record 14.16 sec set by Zac Bechara in 2020)
- Anthony Mastoris (Year 6)
12 Years High Jump 1.39m (old record 1.38m set by Spencer Ling in 2016)
We also congratulate the following Age Champions for 2022:
- 10 years – Alexander Gomesis (Year 5)
- 11 years – Xavier Khoury (Year 5)
- 11 years – Charles Bechara (Year 6)
