Vocational Education and Training (VET) at St Patrick’s College provides students with practical skills, industry knowledge, and pathways to further education, training, and employment.
VET programs help students develop confidence and real-world skills while completing their secondary education.
VET courses are dual accredited, meaning students gain credit towards their High School Certificate (HSC) while also working towards a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate or a Statement of Attainment.
Some VET courses include an optional HSC examination, allowing students to have their results contribute to the calculation of their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
VET courses are developed with industry to ensure students learn skills that meet current workplace standards. Programs are delivered by qualified teachers accredited through Independent Schools NSW Registered Training Organisation (ISNSW RTO).
Through VET, students gain valuable employability skills and may also participate in workplace learning experiences that support the transition from school to further study or employment.
Students can learn more about VET opportunities by speaking with their teachers or the Head of Vocational Education.
