How to Apply

We appreciate your interest in St Patrick’s College as a prospective choice for your son’s education and the opportunity to be part of our community.

St Patrick's College

Applications for enrolment are accepted from birth. The College aims to identify applicants from families who share the College’s identity and purpose and whose sons are well suited to its holistic approach to education.

Each application is assessed in the context of the College’s holistic approach, considering the student’s spiritual, academic, social, and physical development. No single factor is taken in isolation, and the College aims to select applicants whose families share its values and whose sons are best suited to thrive within the St Patrick’s College community.

Take the next step towards joining our community

Apply on behalf of your son by completing the online Application for Enrolment Form.

A non-refundable application fee of $250 is payable per Year 5 application. Upon completing the form, a confirmation email will be sent to you, and your son will be added to our enrolment register appropriate to the intended year of entry.

Applications for Years 6-11 carry no application fee at the time of application. However, the $250 fee applies only upon the acceptance of an Offer of Enrolment.

Online Application Form

Year 5 applicants are invited to an information session and student-led tours two years prior to the intended year of entry.

Tours for Years 6–11 applicants occur only at interview stage, depending on availability.

Applicants will be contacted to complete the Application for Enrolment Form to provide further information and documentation, which are to be appended to the application by a due date.

Year 5: 30 June, two years prior, and Years 6 – 11: approximately six months before the intended year of entry.

Applications will be shortlisted, and selected applicants may be invited to attend a pre-enrolment interview.

Year 5 enrolment offers are made via email approximately sixteen months before the year of entry to the College. Offers for Years 6–11 are made as vacancies arise.

The Offer of Acceptance Forms are to be submitted to the Enrolments Office by the designated date, along with a non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $1,500.

Important Considerations

Primary selection criterion: Boys from practising Catholic families.

Other considerations include:

  • Active participation in the Catholic Church
  • Current enrolment in a Catholic school or baptised Catholic students from other schools
  • Connection to the College through siblings, Old Boys, or family ties
  • Support for the ethos and values of the Catholic Church and the Edmund Rice tradition

It is important to note that meeting these criteria does not guarantee enrolment, as not all applicants will advance to an interview or receive an offer of enrolment. Demand for places often exceeds the number available.

Entry points and waitlist:

  • The main College entry point is Year 5, and enrolments are filled within that year group.
  • Limited places may be available in other year levels (Years 6–11). Applications for these years are placed on a waitlist and progressed by availability and invitation.
  • Unsuccessful applications remain on the waitlist, with the intended year of entry carried forward automatically each year.
