Honouring Our ANZACS

On the first day of Term 2, we gathered for a solemn and meaningful ANZAC Day Assembly to honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Year 5 student Vincent Yu opened the ceremony with a recitation of his award-winning poem ‘Who Are They?’

We were privileged to hear from Old Boy Mr Peter Olde (’61), who shared his powerful story of being the first SPC student conscripted to serve in the Vietnam War. Selected through a birthdate lottery, he joined the Australian Intelligence Corps and was deployed to Vietnam in 1968 during the Tet Offensive. Continuing our tradition, Old Boy Mr Mullen (’16) read the names of our fallen Old Boys, followed by a moving performance of the Last Post by Lachlan Hanna (Year 10) and a minute’s silence.

Our students displayed deep reverence throughout the ceremony, a fitting tribute to all who served and sacrificed.

Begin your journey and let your light shine

Every boy who walks through our gates begins a journey shaped by faith, friendship and challenge. This is where confidence grows, talents emerge and young men learn to live with purpose and heart.
