Annual Speech Night and Prize Giving

11/12/2021

The 2021 Speech Night and Prize Giving ceremony showcased the many and varied talents of our community. The first half of the evening was dedicated to the Graduating Class of 2021, and we acknowledged all those who received academic, sporting, cultural and other special awards. Year 12 Coordinator Mr Texeira and College Captain Darcy Patterson, delivered moving addresses. Following this, the Class of 2021 gave a rousing rendition of the College War Cry and were then led by the Drum Line through a Guard of Honour formed by our Year 5 students. It was a fitting tribute to a cohort who have had to overcome the many challenges presented to them these past two years.

During the evening, Dr Lavorato farewelled Deputy Principal Mr Chase, following seven years of dedicated service. We also celebrated the achievements of our students from Years 5 to 11 who have each demonstrated what can be achieved with persistence, enthusiasm and effort, as well as selfless commitment to the holistic nature of college life. As always, we were entertained by some great live performances and digital media presentations, with the grand finale being our Battle of the Band winners, Orion, who got our blood pumping with their rendition of Metallica’s ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’. It was a wonderful occasion to come together and show our gratitude for all the good that has happened this year!
