St Patrick's College Strathfield

Faith

St Patrick’s College, Strathfield is deeply rooted in the Catholic Faith Tradition, following the example of Blessed Edmund Rice. This Catholic school educates young men within the context of their Catholic faith while providing a strong foundation in secular subjects. The College’s vision is to prepare “faithful and inclusive men for a dynamic world.”

The Catholic faith permeates all aspects of College life, fostering an environment of Gospel values, prayer, reflection, and devotion.

Liturgical Celebrations

Throughout the year, the College community gathers for various liturgical celebrations.

  • Year 5 Welcome Mass and Dinner

  • Founder’s Day
  • Ash Wednesday, and Easter
  • Mother’s Day, Father’s Day
  • Year 6 Thanksgiving

Chapel and Weekly Mass

The College Chapel stands at the heart of St Patrick’s College, welcoming students for prayer before school and nurturing their spiritual growth.

Every Friday during term time, Mass is celebrated at 8:10 AM in the Chapel, with Year 5 and 6 boys encouraged to attend. Parents and community members are also warmly invited to participate.

Formation Program

The Formation of each young man unfolds throughout his time at the College, guided by the College’s Formation Vision. This comprehensive program spans from Year 5 to Year 12 and includes Reflection Days and Spirituality events, integral to a St Patrick’s College education. These experiences shape our students, fostering their spiritual and personal development.

In Year 5 this is experienced through Belonging Day. This is a reflection day off-site where the students connect to their faith and get to know each other under the theme Jesus, Edmund and Me.
