On Saturday, despite widespread cancellations due to the wet weather, SPC showed grit, skill and unwavering determination on the field.
On the football front, while most matches were washed out, several teams battled it out on SPC2 and the Mason synthetic pitch in their final round of competition, with many games deciding top placings:
First XI, Second XI, 15A and 14A – 1st place in their divisions
Third XI – 3rd place in a Seconds competition
Fourth XI – 4th place in a Thirds competition
Fifth XI – 1st place in Division 4
A huge congratulations to all players, your performances have taken us into the semi-finals with an incredible 16 teams qualifying!
Meanwhile, Back to Breen Day saw only our First and Second XV Rugby teams take the field, but both delivered spirited performances in challenging conditions. The Second XV impressed with a halftime lead against Knox, and the First XV played with heart and intensity to push their opponents to the limit.
A special thanks to our Old Boys, particularly reunion classes from 1985, 1995, 2000 and 2005, for creating a tunnel of support that lifted the team. A big cheer for our Year 12 students who played their final home game on home soil.
