The 81st Annual Swimming House and Age Championships took place at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre last Thursday. It was a fantastic day with school spirit at an all-time high. Both staff and students worked together to create an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie that made the event a great success.
It was great to see students of all ages and swimming ability challenge themselves in a variety of ways from Novelty to House events, with our stronger swimmers going head-to-head in Championship events. From the stands, our Year 12 students led the cheering and spirited war cries as they battled it out for extra points.
Congratulations to all our Age Champions, especially Jack Taylor who broke two Open Age records in the 50m Butterfly and Freestyle events, both of which he had set last year.
At the end of the day, Hickey House managed to swim away in top spot followed by Coghlan, Rice, Berg, Hanrahan and Crichton Houses. Congratulations to all involved, especially our Year 12 students who went above and beyond to make this such a memorable occasion!
