Farewell to the Class of 2022

12/10/2022

On Wednesday 21 September, we celebrated the Graduation of the Class of 2022. The day’s festivities commenced with the boys and their Homeroom teachers sharing a breakfast together during which speeches of thanks were given and gifts dispersed.

This was followed by the Year 12 Academic Assembly where our graduands were presented with their Graduation Portfolios and significant awards. Final speeches were made by Year 12 Coordinator Mr Newman, College Captain Michael Bejjani and College Principal Dr Lavorato. At the conclusion of the Assembly, each member of the Class of 2022 processed through a guard of honour formed by the rest of the student body.

The highlight of the day was the Graduation Mass which took place in the early evening. Witnessing the boys process into the Chapel proudly donning their graduation sashes brought a tear to many an eye. The poignance and significance of this last Mass together was evident when the boys sang their hearts out to all their favourite hymns. As they departed Mass, they received their Old Boys ties and gathered around the statue of Edmund Rice for one last time.

The day concluded with the Graduation Dinner at Rosehill Gardens during which Mr and Mrs Bejjani, who this year witnessed the last of their four sons to graduate from St Patrick’s, gave the toast to the College on behalf of the parents. Given the restrictions of the past two years, it was wonderful to be able to give these boys the send-off they deserved.  We wish the Class of 2022 every blessing as they enter the next stage of their lives!
