Old Boys’ Luncheon

17/03/2020

Dear fellow Old Boys and friends,

Over the past few weeks we have been in regular contact with the College, the Four Seasons Hotel, the Mercantile Hotel and many of you regarding this Friday’s lunch.  Given recent events, the guidance by health agencies and the cautions regarding the pandemic related disruptions it has been agreed to postpone this Friday’s lunch.  This is regretful but necessary to ensure the safety of all involved.

To provide a little context, we have been contacted by a number of eager attendees who themselves are prevented from attending due to health or workplace restrictions.  In addition, it is possible in the coming days that the government may reduce the number of people that are permitted to come together in gatherings such as ours.  In the public interest, we have decided to show caution and reduce any likelihood of spreading the virus.

We had already paid for the event in full and the venue has offered to support us by providing a credit to be used at a later date.  This may concern some attendees.  In these circumstances we are asking for your support and we guarantee that the St Patrick’s Day luncheon will be celebrated at suitable time in the future and your tickets will be honoured.

Our speakers have been notified and they have also been taking necessary precautions in their sporting organisations.  We are communicating directly to all attendees who booked tickets online and ask that table captains also notify their table members.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss, please contact the Executive Officer Greg Dening (0410 708 850) or President Matt Fehon (0402 130 769).

Wishing you and your families good health in these circumstances.  We will be in touch again when we have any further details.

We hope you enjoy a much quieter St Patrick’s Day!!!
