On 31 October, Year 7 engaged in a day connecting justice with the arts, mindfulness and sport. All boys brought in donations to assist the House of Welcome Food Bank, and fasted until lunch when they received a cup of rice and piece of fruit. Staff from The House of Welcome, who provide support for refugees in Sydney, spoke to the boys about the situation in our world and about how they can help. The boys also heard the personal story of one refugee which opened their eyes. The boys certainly left the day with a sense of gratitude, greater awareness and an understanding of the gift of working together, especially through the arts.
