Year 9 students and members of staff attended a four-day camp at Somerset Outdoor Learning Centre near the Colo River. Activities included bushwalking, canoeing along the Colo and Hawkesbury Rivers, rock climbing, abseiling, archery and conquering various obstacle courses.
The cohort was divided into ten separate groups with each group operating on its own for the four days. Each afternoon the boys set-up their tents in a different location and shared the responsibilities of preparing dinners, washing the dishes and looking after the campfire.
Throughout the week the teachers and camp staff were on the lookout for students who were showing excellent teamwork and camaraderie. These boys who were outstanding at the camp were crowned with the ‘Camper of the Week Award’.
Overall, the experience was an enjoyable one with the boys rising to the various challenges. Well done to the entire cohort for their great teamwork and making this a wonderful and memorable experience.
