Two Cricket Squads from SPC (Opens and Development) toured England for three weeks over the past holidays. The Tour was a combination of eight cricket fixtures for each team, the soaking up of the Cricket World Cup and key cricketing sites, and other cultural pursuits. The experience of playing on the different pitches in England will surely improve the game of the 30 students on tour, in the hope of enriching and enhancing St Patrick’s College’s oldest and most successful sport for years to come.
It was an amazing experience for all, as our boys were terrific ambassadors for the College and the game. Highlights included watching Australia v South Africa at Old Trafford, a tour of Lords, playing at some amazing grounds like that of Clifton College, Bristol and the Royal Household in Windsor, being at Trafalgar Square for the CWC Final and tours of Anfield in Liverpool, Oxford and London. The bonds formed and the memories created will live long in the lives of all on tour. We thank all our supporters, sponsors, parents and the College for all that went into this unique and remarkable opportunity.
