Last Friday saw approx. 70 staff and students sleep outside on the cold pavers at the College in order to grow a deeper understanding of homelessness and sleeping rough. The Senior students from the Social Justice Action Group ran an evening of prayer, reflection, discussion and action, and as a community we packed several hundred toiletry care packs for those in need.
Students and staff of all ages shared a simple meal of soup and recognised that boredom is a big factor on the streets, while also recognising the power of conversation. As well as our exercise in empathy we raised much needed funds for homelessness services in Sydney. Kudos to all involved!
