Alice Springs Immersion

29/07/2019

For eleven days in June, a small group of Year 11 students and staff lived in Alice Springs and encountered the centre of our nation with a visit to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon.  The main purpose for their time in the Red Centre was to engage with and grow our relationship with our Aboriginal brothers and sisters from St Joseph’s Flexible Learning Centre.

The experience was an eye-opening one that had authentic reconciliation at the heart.  Our young men have returned with new insights into the lives of the original Australians, plenty of learnings and a deeper understanding of the importance of land, but above all else they have new friends and connections.  We look forward to hosting the fellas in return.
