A Window into Learning

Our Year 5 Open Classroom event was exceptionally well attended, with a strong turnout of parents and carers eager to share in their sons’ learning.

The morning provided a wonderful opportunity for students to proudly showcase a wide range of work from across the term, inviting families into their learning spaces and offering insight into the skills, progress and achievements they have been developing.

Classrooms were buzzing with conversation as students guided their families through displays, projects, journals and collaborative tasks. The atmosphere was warm, positive and engaging, reflecting the strong relationships built between students, teachers and families throughout the year. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved and a meaningful celebration of the boys’ growth.

Parent Feedback

Parents shared overwhelmingly positive reflections about the experience. Many commented on:

  • the warm, welcoming and supportive classroom environments
  • the pride and confidence their sons showed when sharing their work
  • the impressive quality, creativity and variety of learning on display
  • the strong sense of connection and care shown by teachers
  • the engaging projects, such as the Soccer World Cup research task, that inspired curiosity, teamwork and meaningful learning
  • the value of seeing journals, collaborative work and long‑term projects that demonstrated growth over time

Across all feedback, a consistent theme emerged: families deeply appreciated the opportunity to witness firsthand the effort, enthusiasm and progress their sons have made, and they expressed gratitude for the dedication and encouragement provided by the Year 5 teaching team.
