Gathered before the College community, the newly appointed leaders were formally conferred and recognised for the important role they will play in the year ahead. As senior students, they are called to lead by example and serve as positive role models for all students gathered at the Assembly.

A particularly meaningful moment came when parents were invited to pin the leadership badges onto their sons’ ties. This simple but significant gesture recognised not only the honour of being selected to serve the College, but also the important role families have played in supporting their sons throughout their journey at St Patrick’s.

Newly appointed 2027 College Captain Noah Y spoke eloquently about the humility he felt in accepting the role and the natural question of whether he was ready for the responsibility ahead. He reflected, however, on the strength of the St Patrick’s community and the knowledge that he will be supported by those around him, particularly his fellow members of the Student Leadership Team. His words provided a fitting reminder that leadership is not undertaken alone, but strengthened by community, collaboration and service to others.

Following Noah’s address, College Principal Dr Vicki Lavorato congratulated the 2027 Student Leadership Team on their appointments and expressed her confidence in their ability to lead the College community well. She encouraged the students as they embark on this important responsibility and acknowledged the privilege of serving and representing their fellow students.

Following the Assembly, the student leaders and their parents gathered for a special morning tea at Waterford House, providing an opportunity to celebrate the occasion together.
