Grounded in the Edmund Rice tradition, our scholarship programs support students who will contribute positively to the life of the College while striving to achieve their personal best.
Through opportunities such as the McGlade Academic Scholarship and the Paul M Pinel Scholarship, students are encouraged to develop their talents, pursue their passions and embrace the values of leadership, service and community that define a St Patrick’s education.
The McGlade Academic Scholarship promotes a love of learning and recognises students who strive for academic excellence. It encourages active involvement in the rich co-curricular and community life of the College while supporting students to reach their full potential.
The scholarship is named in honour of Brother James Athanasius McGlade, a devoted Christian Brother who served in Catholic education for over 70 years, many of those years at St Patrick’s College. His legacy continues to inspire generations of students who pursue excellence with humility, integrity and purpose.
Scholarship recipients enjoy access to the wide range of academic programs, support services, leadership opportunities and co-curricular pathways offered at St Patrick’s College. They graduate as ‘ideal graduates’ – young men who are intellectually curious, spiritually aware, culturally enriched and committed to justice and service.
Rooted in the College’s mission “to educate and form young men with strong minds and gentle hearts,” the McGlade Scholarship reflects the values and aspirations of a Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition. St Patrick’s College is recognised as a beacon for boys’ education, committed to developing future-focused leaders who embody resilience, compassion and courage.
The McGlade Scholarship is proudly supported by the St Patrick’s College Old Boys’ Association, whose members are a testament to the transformative power of a St Patrick’s education.
The Paul M Pinel Scholarship recognises talented young musicians with a passion for organ performance, liturgical music and active participation in the musical life of the College.
