Praise for the Class of 2022

16/12/2022

Congratulations to the Class of 2022 on their fine academic results in the Higher School Certificate. In large part their success is due to their work ethic and consistent effort throughout their school life. Their results reflect a wide array of skills and talents, with excellence demonstrated in many subjects.

In particular, we congratulate Steven Dann our Dux for 2022 having achieved an ATAR of 99.60, Matthew Vucic our Proxime Accessit with an ATAR of 99.35 and Nicholas Coffey who placed third with an ATAR of 99.05.

Additionally, we congratulate Joseph Challita who topped the State in VET Construction (from 3,800 candidates) and placed 9th in the State in Industrial Technology (from 5,748 candidates). We also congratulate Matthew Vucic who placed 20th in the State in Business Studies (from 18,313 candidates).

We also pay tribute to Oliver Thomas and Alexander Turner Jensen who made the Distinguished All-Rounders list (having achieved the top band in at least 10 course units).

To date, we are proud to announce that eighteen students achieved an ATAR of 95 and above and thirty-seven students achieved an ATAR of 90 and above. Seventy-four students made the Distinguished Achievers’ List 140 times, having attained marks of 90% or more in various courses. Overall, the College ranked 109th in the State, an improvement from 132nd, 125th in 2021 and 2020 respectively.

There are many students in the HSC cohort who will not rate a mention for a band 6 result, or a high ATAR, yet they have achieved marvellous results and demonstrated tangible gains with their learning. These are the unsung heroes in the HSC and they deserve our equal recognition and applause.
