St Patrick’s College is a Catholic school in which education in faith has a privileged place along with the pursuit of excellence in academic and general education. It is a school under the care of the Christian Brothers. In accepting an offer of enrolment at the College parents and their sons undertake to participate actively in the life of the school and to work together with the teachers, brothers and pastors to build a community in which the best possible education is offered. In choosing to engage in senior study, the College expects a senior pupil to continue the tradition of service to his fellow pupils, his school and the community that has characterized previous generations of senior pupils.
Senior Pupil's UndertakingTo this end I undertake to: i. Take part in all aspects of the College’s Religious Education programme, including Religious Education lessons, the celebration of Mass and paraliturgies, involvement in community service and witness, prayer, retreats, camps and in the entire College environment. I appreciate that ideally the work of the College in this regard is based upon home life and supported by it.
iii. Exhibit politeness and respect for others as they are an essential part of College life.
iv. Be courteous, co-operative and well behaved especially while travelling to and from the College and during College endorsed activities. v. Refrain from smoking, using alcohol or drugs whilst under College authority which extends from the time I leave home until I arrive home again, understanding that the College cannot accept legal responsibility for students whilst not under the direct supervision of staff. vi. Maintain a high standard of self discipline and to conduct myself in a well behaved manner particularly in accordance with the standards contained in the College diary, understanding that the College reserves the right to ensure that these high standards are maintained and expects my parents to support these justifiable expectations. vii. Be punctual, and regularly attend the College at all lessons throughout each College term as well as to attend at times prescribed by the College including week night and weekend occasions. viii. Be actively involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities beyond the ordinary hours of school, understanding that they are a necessary part of the College’s programme and that I am to join in sports, retreats, class camps, excursions and similar activities as directed. ix. Represent the College in sport willingly, enthusiastically and conscientiously as a way of building up College spirit, provided I have the ability and physical fitness and am chosen, understanding that a commitment to College sport and co-curricular and extra-curricular activities has a priority over all other commitments. x. Wear full College uniform at times prescribed and as designated as the standard, understanding that full sport and other specialist uniforms are to be worn as directed. Parent's UndertakingI/We have read the above terms and expectations and agree with and support my/our son’s undertaking. Specifically I/we undertake to: i. Assist my/our son to fulfill these terms and conditions. ii. Pay fees promptly by no later than the due date. I/we understand that contributions to the Building Fund at least at the suggested level are anticipated and that contributions in excess of this suggested level are especially received. iii. Support the College through active involvement in the canteen, chapel cleaning, learning support, social justice initiatives, Parents’ and Friends’ meetings, special community celebrations, parent/teacher interviews, sport, etc. |
