The overall aim of our PD/H/PE programme at St Patrick’s College is to fully implement the KLA
Through adequate provision of fitness testing, muscular activity, weight training methods, swimming, health lectures in physiology, anatomy and nutrition, we hope to promote the development of organic efficiency of the student. This organic efficiency should foster poise, grace, co-ordination, balance and general well-being, all necessary requisites for personal development and social competency.
Through activities such as Social Dance, the Royal Life
Saving Schemes, Peer Support opportunities, interaction in team games and in the classroom, we hope to foster opportunities for the students to acquire leadership skills, attitudes of loyalty, co-operation, self-discipline, sportsmanship and responsibility, all necessary traits essential to good civic behaviour.
Through lectures and group interaction in Health classes we hope to assist the students in better understanding the problems of adolescence and having to cope with these problems, thus making the transition to adult life as smooth as possible.
