The College is a non-selective school academically. This reality is easily confirmed by the fact that the entrance test for Year 5 is administered after (not before) offers of enrolment for Year 5. It is also demonstrated by the fact that a number of our candidates for the School and Higher School Certificate have special provisions approved for them due to specific learning difficulties. Additionally the low fee structure ensures there is no socio-economic barrier to entry. In short, St Patrick’s College has many ordinary boys achieving extraordinary results.

Schools must be about promoting a commitment to personal excellence, a love of learning, a pursuit of knowledge. Excellence requires a commitment to it on the part of the student, the support of his parents, the professionalism and competence of the teaching staff and a school climate typified by discipline, structure and appropriate order where the teaching-learning process is easily and naturally valued by all.
