St Patrick’s College is committed to the spiritual development of all members of its community; students, staff, family and friends. Consequently, many opportunities are offered to allow the individual and the community to grow in their relationship with God by focusing on the essence of life and the spirit that lives within each of us. Prayer is taught and practiced on a daily basis in all forums.
Eucharist is celebrated every Tuesday morning at 8.15am in the College Chapel. All are welcome.
The sacraments, specifically Eucharist and Reconciliation, are celebrated at least once a year by each student in the College. Reflection Days are central to the students’ spiritual development and take place in the Junior School and Years 7 – 10. Spirituality and Retreat Days are experienced in Years 11 and 12, and the Senior Retreat (an extended period of development) takes place in Term 4 of Year 11. Staff are provided the opportunities of time out and the focus on particular spiritual issues and needs in various different formats. Parents and friends are invited to participate in Spirituality sessions in the mornings and/or evenings. These sessions focus on the development of the individual in areas pertinent to them eg parenting, taking to time to renew and our place in the wider community. All opportunities for spiritual growth are centred on Christ and provide the individual with an understanding of their relationship with God, themselves and others. Spirituality Events for 2008
