College Executive

The College Executive consists of a group of eight – the Headmaster, the Deputy Headmaster, the Assistant Headmaster (Administration), the Junior School Coordinator, the Pastoral Care Coordinator, the Curriculum Coordinator, the Professional Development Coordinator and the Business Manager.

The Headmaster, appointed by the Christian Brothers Province Leader, articulates the religious dimension of the College; ensures the promotion of education in faith; provides for the effective pastoral care of the pupils; establishes channels of effective consultation and communication; provides for quality teaching and learning; establishes an optimum physical learning environment; and implements efficient and effective administrative practices.

The Deputy Headmaster deputies for the Headmaster in his absence. Duties include staff development, pastoral care, community relations and administration. Particular duties include compliance with child protection legislation; pupil transportation; coordination of College celebrations; and generation of calendars.

The Assistant Headmaster (Administration) is responsible

for the efficient and effective planning and implementation of change in the College’s daily routine, including supervision of the cocurriculum, administration of examinations and assessment blocks, supervision of the playgrounds, generation of the timetable, administration of staff absence and planning of all special events and celebrations.

The Junior School Coordinator supervises all aspects of the organisation and management of the Junior School. Duties include the overseeing of the Junior School Coordinating Team; Junior School Religious Education; Formation and Curriculum; the Junior School staff and resources; and the Junior School cocurriculum.

The Pastoral Care Coordinator supervises the work of the Year Masters; the Careers Adviser, the Social Justice Coordinator and the College Counsellor. Duties include pupil attendance and punctuality; the design, implementation and evaluation of student management procedures; the peer support programme; chairing the Pastoral Care Committee; and student leadership.

The Curriculum Coordinator supervises the work of the Studies Coordinators. Duties include the overseeing of all teaching programmes, assessment procedures, and reporting; compliance with Board of Studies requirements for registration and accreditation; stage prospectuses and course selections, chairing the Curriculum Committee; analysis of results; and Learning Support services.

The Professional Development Coordinator oversees all staff professional development; plans, implements and evaluates all staff performance reviews; supervises teachers in their first years of service in accordance with requirements of the NSW Institute of Teachers; inducts staff new to the College; and supports staff in the daily execution of their duties.

The Business Manager has responsibility for the financial, accounting, business administration and management functions of the College. Duties include the generation and supervision of the annual budget, preparation of all financial statements, loan negotiations, insurance, occupational health and safety, return to work, fees generation and payment, accounts payable, payroll and supervision of the Canteens and Uniform Shop.
