In 2004, the Province Leaders of the four Australian Provinces of the Christian Brothers proclaimed the Charter as an authentic expression of Edmund Rice Education as applied to Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition in Australia. The Charter identifies eleven cultural characteristics as an authentic expression of the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice.
